Renaud Garcia-Fons gets a big sound from his double bass and evokes arabic and asiatic instrumentation through a combination of technique and electronics. By using a kind of tapping movement as he draws his bow, he creates a kind of staccato melody. Behind his main instrument, a series of loops are played that he has pre-recorded using only sounds from the double bass. The result is wide range of moods from a kinetic rock sound to quieter and elegant passages.
