After a two-year run, West Ashley’s Jimbo’s Rock Lounge closed for business on June 1. Entrepreneur Jimbo Webb, a veteran manager who previously worked at the Music Farm for years, opened the club in Feb. 2010 as a live music venue aimed at presenting mostly alternative rock, metal, DJs, and Americana acts.

Located in a small shopping plaza at 1662 Savannah Hwy. (behind D.D. Peckers), the Rock Lounge had its ups and downs. The City Paper rarely received or obtained band calendars or updates from the club over the last six months. There’s no word yet on what Webb might do next, or what might come into the space.
