Almost $40,000 was raised over the span of four days last week for Fowler’s Mustache singer/guitarist Nick Collins, who was seriously injured in a car accident earlier this month.
Several hundred people showed up to Midtown for Thursday night’s benefit show, which raised $16,000. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Windjammer ran out of wristbands for their benefit when they hit 500 guests. There aren’t exact totals for how much money was raised that night, but Fowler’s Mustache drummer John Tankersley expects it was close to $20,000.
According to NACWins.com, the website set up to promote fundraisers for Collins, there will be another benefit at Bushido in West Ashley on Fri. Aug. 24. Singer/guitarist Richard Lorenzo will perform at 10 p.m., and the restaurant will be airing the show live on their Google+ page. Tankersley says a huge show is being planned for Sept. 23 at Awendaw Green. Details for that day are still in the works. Keep an eye on NACWins.com for future events, or visit Collins’ Caringbridge page for updates on his condition.
