The College of Charleston’s resident Italians are gearing up for the sixth annual Italian Film Festival, scheduled for Sept. 20-23 at the Sottile Theatre.

The event, which is open to the public, features screenings of 13 contemporary films from directors like Edoardo De Angelis (Mozzarella Stories), Paola Randi (Into Paradiso), and Tonino Zangardi (Sandrine in the Rain). Those three, along with Nico Cirasola, will also appear as special guests to present and discuss their works with local film buffs.

The opening night celebration on Sept. 20 will include food from Monza, which is sponsoring the festival. There’s a suggested donation of $6 per screening. Find out more at delucag.people.cofc.edu.
