Seeing your favorite band perform is one thing, but sitting in on a live studio recording is usually limited to those lucky enough to attend VH1’s Storytellers. However, thanks to Charleston Sound’s Sundown Sessions that may all change.
Over the past few years, Charleston Sound, a fully equipped recording studio in Mt. Pleasant, has served as the host for midday in-studio performances, featuring such musical notables as Donavon Frankenreiter, J.J. Grey and Mofro, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. And it was after these performances that the idea of creating the Sundown Sessions was born.
Each installment of the Sundown Sessions features two musicals acts — some local and some national — and between 75 and 100 guests will be invited to sit in on the recording sessions. There will be food and drinks provided by both Charleston Sound and other local sponsors. Be on the lookout for a kickoff date and list of performers soon (If you and your band are interested in being a part of these sessions, call (843) 216-5556 or e-mail casey@charlestonsound.com.
