A local charity group is collecting donations of clothing and supplies to help victims of Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey and New York.

Operation Southern Hospitality, created by several South Carolina companies including Charleston-based private ambulance company MedOne Lowcountry, is looking for people to donate the following items:
โข Water
โข Non-perishable food
โข New or clean and folded clothes
โข Blankets
โข Sleeping Bags
โข Toys
โข Batteries
โข Feminine products
โข Toiletries
โข Baby diapers
โข Baby wipes
โข Baby formula
โข Pet supplies
โข Cleaning supplies
In the Charleston area, drop-off locations include:
โข City Halls for Charleston, North Charleston, and Summerville
โข North Charleston, Summerville, and Goose Creek fire stations
โข All Curves locations
โข All Agent Owned Realty locations
โข All Weeks Law Firm locations
Once the donations are collected, they will be shipped by CSX train to the affected locations, where organizers have arranged to distribute items with the help of agencies including the New York City Fire Department, the New Jersey Emergency Management Assistance Compact, and New Jersey park services.
