Happy Cyber Monday! Or is it merry? This new shopping holiday has crept up on us. Clearly, these cybergeeks are trying to take away our right to trample one another at the mall in a race to buy eight toasters for the price of five.

Monday. If you’re a CofC student, enjoy some free music by the College of Charleston Orchestra at the Monday Night Concert Series (all others pay $10).

Tuesday. Start your morning with the next installment in the Charleston Jewish Community Center Israel Film Series. Talk kilobytes and joke about floppy disks with fellow techies at the Tech After Five networking event at Southend Brewery. First beer is free. Then, try your hand at the cornhole tournament and catch a few jokes at the Castaways Comedy Night. If you’re in the Summerville area, stop by the Christmas Tree Lighting and Snowball Drop.

Wednesday. Retail therapy not your thing? Check out the Big Gun Show for a few chuckles.

Thursday. Listen to some world, jazz, and electronic grooves at Black Tap’s MundoVibe Weekly Listening Event. Then, learn how to style your home on a budget at the “Centsable” Interior Design talk at the Center for Women.

Friday. Santa will be stopping in at the Sullivan’s Island Fire and Rescue Station Holiday Lighting, where you can also catch the Thistlin’ Dixie Bagpipes. Find locally made art for sale at the Static in the Snow Holiday Art Show and Market.

Saturday. After looking through the Holiday Farmers Market in Marion Square, visit the City of Charleston Official Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Saturday evening, find a spot along the Cooper River for the Holiday Parade of Boats. Get your copy of Sunsets Over Charleston: More Conversations with Visionaries, Luminaries & Emissaries of the Holy City signed by author Thomas McQueeny.

Sunday. Browse gifts at Mixson’s Holiday Maker’s Market. Find a spot along King to catch the bands, floats, marchers and other performers as they march in the Charleston Christmas Parade.
