We at the City Paper have a certain a affection for our pink across the street neighbor, Martha Lou’s Kitchen. Yesterday, we noticed a new addition to the south facing wall of the soul food establishment, where Charles Desaussure of Yemassee was in the process of painting an eight foot portrait of the restaurant’s namesake. His plan was to finish in one day, and from the looks of it, he is right on schedule. So the next time you are making your way up East Bay, check out the beautiful Martha Lou and stop in for some stick-to-your-ribs goodness.
