Jack Hurley closed his newest Cosmic Dogs location in favor of an entirely new concept, which seems perfectly targeted to the well-fed and watered Avondale neighborhood in West Ashley. To entice folks over to St. Andrews Boulevard from the hot triangle area, Hurley has embraced the popular Mexi-Cali fare of the Pacific coast.
Donald Barickman, formerly with the group behind Magnolias/Blossom/Cypress, consulted on the menu. I haven’t seen the final offerings yet, but they promise tortas, quesadillas, tacos, and burritos. The pictures on Facebook look pretty good too.
In a smart move, they’ve added a full bar to the lineup, and Hurley’s son Morgan will be overseeing the operation. They’ll have plenty of tequila and craft beer to keep Avondale well lubricated.
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner and will stay open until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday nights.
I for one will be making my way over there to check it out soon. Have you tried it yet?
