Local songstress Rachel Kate Gillon, of the Local Honeys and formerly of the Shaniqua Brown, has taken to Kickstarter to fund the release of her first solo album, Rachel Kate, With Love and Hate. According to Gillon, it’s a “weird folk album … with a dark side.” We don’t know about you, but to us that sounds very promising. Gillon has already recorded the album, but she still needs to raise $9,000 in order to pay for studio time. If the goal isn’t reached in a month, then, well, you know how Kickstarter works — Gillon doesn’t get squat. So come on, help her out. To donate and listen to some music, visit Kickstarter and search for Rachel Kate.
