Charleston’s sister city Savannah is giving music fans a reason to head south next month. On March 7-9, the Hostess City will host the Savannah Stopover Festival, a SXSW-style fest covering venues and events all over downtown. This year’s lineup features indie-rock heroes Of Montreal and Chelsea Light Moving (featuring Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth) and up-and-comers like the Whigs, Mac DeMarco, Ducktails, and Prince Rama. Charleston’s own Heyrocco and Stop Light Observations are playing the festival, as well. A weekend pass is $75, and individual day passes are $30 each. A three-day VIP pass is $120 and includes free beer at every event. For more info, visit savannahstopover.com.
