During her appearance today on MSNBC’s morning news show, The Daily Rundown, host Chuck Todd looked to pull a fast one on Democratic candidate for the 1st District Elizabeth Colbert Busch, giving her the Stephen Colbert treatment with a thoroughly awkward version of “Better Know a District.”

After a halting interview with Todd (around the 6:40 mark), we give Colbert Busch a 2.5 out of 4 on the quiz, stumbling on the first question about the founding of Charleston and completely avoiding the host’s last-question ambush over her football allegiance. Forget Social Security and sequester, Clemson-Carolina is the third rail of South Carolina politics. Colbert Busch quipped, “I went to the University of South Carolina, I graduated from the College of Charleston, and I work at Clemson. They’re all great.”

Author’s note: MSNBC incorrectly identified Charleston as home to the “first public college”, but the College of Charleston is the nation’s first municipal college.
