It’ll be like the 1990s all over again on Aug. 9 at the North Charleston Coliseum.

In what may be the most brilliant business move of all time, five of the decade’s best pop-alt-rock bands — Sugar Ray, the Gin Blossoms, Smash Mouth, Vertical Horizon, and Fastball — have come together for the Under the Sun tour, and it’ll be making a stop in the Lowcountry this summer. It’ll be like one of those oldies concerts they play on PBS sometimes, except the audience will be full of aging Gen Xers instead of your grandparents.

“We’re looking forward to it,” McGrath says in a video announcing the tour. “Thanks for all of your support, and most importantly, your patience. We’ll see you this summer.”

Reserved seats go on sale Fri. March 29 at 10 a.m. for $39.50 and $59.50. Think of all the hits you’ll hear for just one price. “Fly.” “Hey Jealousy.” “All Star.” “Everything You Want.” “The Way.” We can’t wait — especially since we now have all of those songs stuck in our head simultaneously.
