UPDATE: Our Angry Grandpa cover story is on newsstands now. Read it here.
We’ve had some colorful characters stop by City Paper HQ over the years, but few have made us more proud to be reporters — or more nervous for our safety — than Charlie Green, a local Youtube celebrity better known as The Angry Grandpa.
Green, who will be the subject of a feature in the Wed. March 27 edition, has made his name on the internet basically by yelling and smashing objects in his mobile home. Here’s a link to his Youtube channel, but don’t complain to us after you get sucked into the madness for the next three hours.
Anyway, Green and his son Michael (also known as Pickleboy) stopped by the office last Thursday for a photo shoot, and Michael brought a camcorder along to document the excursion. In his video, you can see Grandpa cursing at downtown traffic, walking into the CP office, and posing for his close-up with photographer Jonathan Boncek. You can also see me proudly displaying an obscene Angry Grandpa T-shirt, a gift from the man himself.

You won’t want to miss the story on Wednesday, which explores a question many of the Angry Grandpa’s fans have pondered: Is he really that angry, or is it all an act? Pick up a copy and find out.
