The owners of Salty Waters Rawbar & Grill have announced that they will give a free meal to anyone who lost their income due to the Tuesday morning fire at 213 East Bay Street, which damaged the bars Squeeze, Light, Speakeasy, and the Brick during what is usually a booming week for downtown bars.
“Honestly, it’s just helping out,” says Jamie Parfrey, co-owner of the James Island restaurant. “We’re a local business, and if something like that happened to us, we would like the same respect. Everybody’s a family when it comes to food and beverage, and we just want to do what we can on our part.”
Parfrey says no one has taken them up on the offer yet, but she expects to see a few F&B professionals in the restaurant soon. “Probably today is pretty much just the aftershock,” Parfrey says. “We’ll probably see some this weekend.”
