It’s almost 4/20, and we all know what happens then — and by then, we mean Sat. April 20? No, Mayor Riley doesn’t light up a joint on the steps of the U.S. Custom House and declare the day an arrest-free smoke fest. We can dream, though, can’t we? Instead, it means that Monster Music and Movies will once again be throwing their annual Record Store Day bash. Huzzah!

Not only will Monster be offering massive discounts inside the store, out on the sidewalk they’ll be selling what we’ve been told will be thousands of used CDs and LPs — all for a quarter. Yes, you read that right. Twenty-five frikkin cents.

The event will also feature live music from reggae act the Da Gullah Rootz, proggers An Era of Echoes, metal mirthmakers Godwin Falcon and Hooded Eagle, and the Holy City’s favorite American Idol Elise Testone. She’ll will take the stage at 3 p.m..

And of course, they’ll be food, thanks to four of Charleston’s finest food trucks: Pot Kettle Black, Baja Burritos, Carolina Creole, and Cory’s Grilled Cheese.
