The lower Peninsula is an exciting place to be during Spoleto, what with the continual performances, the farmers market, and the art market, not to mention the loads of people who come from far and wide to bask in the culture. But at some point during the festival, you’re going to want a break from all the excitement. That’s why you should plan to attend the Concert in the Park at Allan Park, located in the quiet Hampton Park Terrace neighborhood just a mile or so north of Marion Square. It’s so tucked away that even some locals don’t know of its existence, especially since it can be overshadowed by its much larger neighbor, Hampton Park. The V-Tones and the Beebos will be playing the best kind of outdoor listening music — twangy rock, jazz, swing, and bluegrass — while you and your family hang out under the stars. To make a night of it, bring a blanket and a picnic.
Piccolo Spoleto. Concert in the Park. May 31, 7-10 p.m. Free. Allan Park, Ashley Ave.
