Jeff Hodges, the head man at local recording studio Charleston Sound, has recently finished working on a project with funky Ben Fagan and the Holy City Hooligans and is currently in the process of finishing up sessions with former American Idol contestant Elise Testone.
Hodges says that working with Testone has been “phenomenal.” “We are in the mixing process using analog equipment to give her a big, full, warm, vintage sound,” Hodges says, “We’re happy to have her.”
Like Testone, Fagan is no stranger to reality TV; he won Mark Burnett’s 2007 series Pirate Master. Fagan has also been a long-term client of Charleston Sound. “He was one of our first customers back in ’08, ’09,” Hodges says. He says that Fagan is taking a different approach to his new project, combining hip-hop and DJ-style tracks with songs utilizing a full band. “We love having him here,” he adds.
