I’m not going to be able to do this. One or two columns, I would have been fine with, but this is a purge and an entire repudiation of the views that established you as the Southern Avenger.
An entire segment of your fan base was built upon these columns and others like them, and to now ask for so many of them to be removed — and not just a couple in which you felt that you had made uncharacteristic errors in judgment — is too much. In many ways this is the core of who you are to City Paper readers and fans of the Southern Avenger columns and blog posts as they ran in the CP and perhaps elsewhere.
I understand your concerns about them, as well as some of your past associations. My advice: Get ahead of this and write a column denouncing the views — the ones that you believe are now not in line with who you are — expressed in these columns.
