Over the past few months, we’ve been watching a curious development take place about a block from the City Paper office on Isabella Street. Little by little, workers are building … something … out of metal shipping containers on the property inside the fence at Palmetto Craftsmen, Inc.
We’ve stopped in their office and bugged the construction workers a few times, but everybody’s keeping mum about what the heck this thing is. We’ve been told twice now that the person who is having it built doesn’t want his or her plans to be made public.
So until we get an answer, what’s your guess? Is it going to be a survivalist bunker? A sun-powered multi-level oven for giant pizzas? A modern-day masterpiece of brutalist architecture? Go ahead, take a guess.
