Charleston native and Fountains of Wayne guitarist Jody Porter recently wrapped up his second solo album, Month of Mondays. Porter describes this album as more direct and rawer than his first album, Close to the Sun. “I played all the instruments, so any other thoughts were already worked out in my own head before the tape started rolling,” Porter says.

Porter wrote 10 of the Month of Mondays‘ 11 songs between February and March of this year, except for one track he penned way when he was 18. “A day in the month of the life of me so to speak,” Porter says about the theme of album. “I like making records. Being in the studio is preferable to touring and feels more like home than a tour bus.”

Porter hopes to release Month of Mondays by October, and has been using Kickstarter to reach a goal of $22,000 before July 24.
