Sunday morning brought an influx of cars to the peninsula as people headed downtown for church, brunch, or a nice summer stroll. Cue the apocalyptic rainfall. By mid-afternoon, the roads had turned into rivers and Kevin Spacey, decked out in purple, tested the waters with his shoes in his hands. That’s right — Kevin Spacey was visiting our humble city this weekend. He tweeted a photo from an intersection on Wentworth with the caption “I had a great time in Charleston, SC. Beautiful summer weather…”

Sorry, Kevin. Condé Nast somehow always forgets to warn visitors about Charleston’s weekly summer floods. Although the bulk of Spacey’s agenda for his visit is left unknown, Twitter followers claim he was spotted on King St., at a downtown Starbucks earlier in the day and brunching at 82 Queen. Hopefully, the storm didn’t turn him off from the Holy City forever. Mr. Spacey, if you’re reading this, try us again in the fall!
