Long-time Charleston favorites Darius Rucker and American Idol contestant Elise Testone have teamed up to create a track on Testone’s new record, In This Life. The 12-song collection still doesn’t have a release date, but the Lowcountry collaboration was announced during an interview with a Myrtle Beach TV station. Testone, who finished in sixth place on the 11th season of Idol, appeared humbled and honored to be able to record a duet with Rucker, especially on a song that she wrote. “When I heard his voice on it, and I realized I wrote it, and how hard I’ve worked on this journey. Every time I hear it, I can’t stop crying,” she said in the interview with WFXB’s Fox Morning News.
