Zombie mania just won’t die (no pun intended) — now it’s even taken over Twitter. South Carolina native Rebecca A. Frierson has tweeted over 35,000 times and acquired almost 5,500 followers with her Twitter handle, @ShitZombiesSay. “Within 24 hours I had over 100 followers and by 48 hours I had 250,” Frierson says. “That is incredibly strong for an unestablished brand.”

She’s been ranked in the top five percent of influential Twitter users and is now channeling her Twitter humor into a book, 1001 Things Zombies Say. “The tweets are basically one-line zombie jokes from the zombie perspective,” Frierson says. Frierson’s favorite tweet is a play on the Piggly Wiggly tag line: “Eating locals since forever.” Frierson recently set up a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund her book, surpassing her goal of $5,000 and raising $6,035.
