DIY is the name of the game at the Avondale craft studio SpaceCraft Studios, so it’s no surprise that they’ll be hosting a trunk show by Alabama Chanin, a custom design and fashion company that produces DIY sewing kits in addition to their ready-to-wear, hand-sewn garments.
Their Studio Style DIY line features kits that contain everything you need — from the 100 percent organic fabric to appliqués and thread — to make your own Alabama Chanin project. The company has kits for everything from dresses to tablecloths.
You can browse these DIY kits at SpaceCraft on Oct. 10-12 from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. There will also be an Open Sewing Night on Thurs. Oct. 10 from 7-9 p.m. where you can hang out and sew with fellow Alabama Chanin enthusiasts. It’s $20 to participate, or free with purchase of a DIY kit.
