Get ready for a hump day rumpus.

Local 616 — a newish neighborhood watering hole appropriately located at 616 Meeting St. — will host its grand opening celebration this Wed. Oct. 2 at 6 p.m.

Local 616 first opened its doors in July, quickly staking its claim as a worthy dive bar, hosting both futbol and football-watching parties and quietly inviting the neighborhood in to discover its low-key vibe.  But this week, with the final acquisition of a full liquor license, the pub will celebrate an official grand opening.

DJs Party Dad, Stumble, JeffET, and Birdflu will be spinning, and Lindsay Holler will perform. Local beer on tap —  Holy City, Frothy Beard, Westbrook, RJ Rockers, and Carolina Brewery — along with Guinness and Carlsberg will help wash down the fare from Hot Links, a sausage-inspired food cart for both vegans and carnivores.

Local 616 is located just north of the bridge overpass on Meeting Street, nestled comfortably between Ike’s and Hello My Name Is BBQ.
