Steve Palmer, managing partner of the Indigo Road Restaurant Group, tells us that he and executive chef Robert Berry have parted ways at Indaco.
“He was a great chef,” says Palmer, “but it was a bad fit.”
You can read a lot into that spin, but Palmer isn’t talking beyond that, except to say that Berry will be replaced by sous chef Michael Perez, who worked at Masi’s and Trattoria Lucca after relocating to Charleston from New York where he worked as a sous chef at Scarpetta.
The changing of the guard happened earlier today.
