The Holy City’s favorite American Idol and City Paper Music Award winner Elise Testone has finally wrapped up her first post-prime time album In This Life, and she’s planning two big shows to celebrate it. Both shows are scheduled for Thurs. Feb. 13, with the first taking place at the Charleston Music Hall at 7:30 p.m. and the second at the Pour House at 10 p.m.
The collection was recorded in Charleston and features Testone’s American Idol BFF, Erika Van Pelt, as well as a host of Holy City music scenesters. “In This Life tells a continuous story of personal and non-personal struggles with relationships on multiple levels,” Testone says. “These struggles are relatable to most people, and I’ve done my best to turn them into something beautiful.”
She adds, “My hope is that the sounds and words, as one, will effect the listener’s senses in an unexpected way.”
Tickets are $40 adv., $45/door for premium seating at the Music Hall, a ticket to the Pour House gig, and a signed CD. A regular two-show ticket is $30/adv., $35/door, while single tickets are $20/adv., $25/door for the Music Hall and $15/adv., $17/door for the Pour House.
