Photos appeared on Dangermuffin’s Facebook page earlier this month showing the guys hard at work on a follow up to their 2012 disc, Olly Oxen Free. Joined again by engineer Majeed “MJ” Fick, Dangermuffin is recording their “best and biggest collection of songs” at West Ashley’s Truphonic Recording. “This is our fourth full record, so we’ve done this a few times,” says guitarist Dan Lotti. “We’re veterans by this point.”

The bluesy beach rockers took December off to write a mass of material for the new LP, and they hope to release it to fans in late spring. “Like Olly Oxen Free, it’s going to be another high-quality recording, and we’re looking forward to touring off of it for the summer,” Lotti adds.

Dangermuffin is scheduled for shows well into the spring and will be joining local favorites Ben Fagan and Jamisun at Best Fest in Costa Rica. You can be the first to hear their new tunes at the Pour House on January 25.
