Charleston County schools opened at their normal times this morning but will be on abbreviated schedules. A full list of schools’ opening and closing times can be found here. The district will make a decision about Wednesday’s school schedule around 1 p.m. today.

The College of Charleston has cancelled all classes, labs, and activities for Tuesday, including at the Main Campus, North Campus, Patriot’s Point, Grice Marine Lab, and the Lowcountry Graduate Center. All residence halls will remain open, and the Fresh Food Company dining facility will remain open all day. The library will be closed today. The college will post updates on its website this afternoon about reopening.

The Citadel will close at noon Tuesday, and all afternoon classes and activities have been cancelled. For updates, check citadel.edu or listen to the recorded message on the Dawg Line at 1 (800) 868-3294 or (843) 953-3294.

The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center’s outpatient clinics will be closed from noon Tuesday through noon Wednesday. A press release from the hospital says:

All VA staff should report for their regular tours of duty on Tuesday morning. Patients should come to their appointments that are scheduled during open clinic times listed above. VA’s inpatient services and Emergency Room services will remain open.”

Tuesday night’s Charleston County Council meeting has been postponed to Thurs. Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. The Charleston County employee recognition ceremony scheduled for Wed. Jan. 29 has been cancelled.

Charleston County Public Library branches and book drops will close at noon on Tuesday.

The South Carolina Stingrays’ Tuesday night home game against the Orlando Solar Bears has been postponed. The Stingrays will return to the ice at the North Charleston Coliseum on Fri. Jan. 31 with a home game against the Solar Bears.

What If? Productions’ opening night of Saucy Jack & The Space Vixens, scheduled for Thurs. Jan. 30, has been postponed to Fri. Jan. 30. The new show dates are Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 2, 6, 7, and 8 at the American Theatre at 7:30 p.m.
