If you watch makeover shows or even morning news programs, you know that properly fitted foundation garments are just as important as outerwear when creating a style. Fortuitously, Charleston’s Bits of Lace opened a new store at 453 Coleman Blvd. in Mt. Pleasant. Bits of Lace specializes in helping women find their true size. Owner Ruth Brennan is looking forward to serving an expanded customer base. “Eighty-eight percent of women are wearing an ill-fitting bra,” says Brennan, who hopes to introduce her new clients to Bits of Lace’s “Fit to Brafection” approach.

The Bits of Lace brand is surely about fit, but it’s also about luxury. Since 1976, the store has carried high-end bras and undies by designers like La Perla, Prima Donna, and Chantelle. Now shoppers can also browse a variety of sleepwear and the latest in lingerie like Hanky Panky thongs. For all the aspiring Dita Von Teeses, Bits of Lace still carries garter belts and shapewear.

“Our customers can expect our unique brand of personalized service and unmatched attention to detail. We invite everyone to our new location,” says Brennan. The Mt. P Bits of Lace will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Mon-Sat.
