Holy City hip hop trio Savage Souls (Fortune, Kae G The Original Seed, and DJ Icirus) are ambitious as ever with an upcoming string of EPs to drop over the course of 2014, culminating into a full LP by early next year.

The first is Illnastastic, out Tues. April 22, and will feature two tracks with Apathy, a rapper out of Connecticut-based hip hop supergroup Demigodz. Recording for the second EP Sword Gang is already wrapped up and eyeing a June or July release.

The idea to produce their music this way stemmed from the success of last year’s project of recording a new song weekly for 15 weeks. “We realized we could adapt its fast pace and set schedule to allow us to create quality product circumventing the labor-intensive and stifling album process,” Kae G tells us. “Basically, make music we love and put it out…while we still love it.”

Illnastastic will be released digitally on iTunes and Amazon, or you can buy your own copy at their next show May 17 at Rehab, North Charleston.
