Questionably tasteful advertisements have a long tradition in local TV broadcasting. Now, thanks to the advent of social media, entrepreneurs and salesmen are able to foist their bizarre sense of humor on us via the medium of Facebook.
Atlantic Bedding & Furniture, a store with locations in Charleston, North Charleston, and Mt. Pleasant, posted the following photos to its Facebook page late Friday night, and they started showing up in local News Feeds over the weekend:
Get it? Because Donald Sterling is a racist … and Ron Jeremy likes pounding things … and “sectional” sounds kinda like “sexual.” We’re not even getting into the propriety of talking about bunk beds (which are, y’know, usually for kids) in terms of whoopie-making euphemisms.
But whatever. It’s a free country. One commenter questioned Atlantic Bedding & Furniture on the Donald Sterling joke, and the company replied:
