Punks&Snakes’ debut album No Swagger is available today on iTunes. Frontman Jack Burg has played drums in more local bands than we can count, and Punks&Snakes marks his first turn at the microphone with a proper band behind him.

And what a band it is. The star-studded cast on No Swagger includes Michael Flynn and Josh Kaler (of Slow Runner), Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst (of Shovels & Rope), Sadler Vaden (of Drivin N Cryin and Jason Isbell), and Joel Hamilton (of Mechanical River). From the opening peal of Trent’s harmonica on “Day After Day” to the distorted guitars and punk energy of “Liars Code,” these songs have been tumbling around in Burg’s brain for years and have come out like polished gems.

The album was originally slated for release on May 20, but it was delayed as frontman Jack Burg sorted out a distribution and licensing deal with Dualtone Records. CD copies of the album will be available soon at Monster Music & Movies.
