SUSTO is embarking on a summer-long tour on June 12, and fans can send them off in style the night before with a show that’ll be full of new elements for the ears to behold.
Since band members like Johnny Delaware are on the road promoting other projects, frontman Justin Osborne will tour as a solo act, but he’s assembled an all-star sit-in crew for the tour kickoff party.
The SUSTO line up includes All Get Out drummer Gordon Keiter, Matt Lohan and Corey Campbell from Steady Hand String Band (on bass and guitar, respectively), and Jordan Igoe on keys and harmonies.
“All of these guys are incredible musicians and good friends of mine, so it’s going to be a cool dynamic,” Osborne says. “And I think it’ll be a really interesting way to hear the songs as well.”
In the short time since their April 1 debut release, SUSTO’s been making some pretty promising headway, including a connection that landed the band an opening slot for Alabama’s recent Charleston performance. And only a few days ago, the self-described whimsical Americana band had been booked to open for Band of Horses June 18 in Carrboro, N.C. and June 19 in Richmond, Va. We hope to hear more good news rollin’ in for this deserving troupe when they return to town in August.
