Katina Rose recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the local teen duo’s first EP. Katie Rose Franyo and Nina Murchison met three years ago at Charleston School of the Arts, where they were both piano majors. Now 16 years old, the self-described rock chicks are now talented guitarists, songwriters, and vocalists, too. Katina Rose’s manager Suzie Webster says, “The girls are aiming to use the campaign money to record Nina’s song ‘San Francisco,’ Katie’s song ‘Hey Boy,’ and more, if possible.” Combining these tunes with their recently released ‘Thunder & Lightning,’ the girls hope to release their first EP in September.
