According to a tweet from graphic designer Gil Shuler, Sean Brock’s new taco joint at 155 East Bay St. will be called Minero.

The link from Gil’s tweet leads to a rendering of a mask with the name Minero on top. Below Shuler writes:

“Opening up in September on East Bay St. here in Charleston is the latest from the Neighborhood Dining Group — the folks who brought you Husk. Sean Brock and David Howard decided Charleston needed a good mexican street food restaurant. The name is Spanish for miners — Mexican miners used to wrap their explosives in paper and called them tacos. So there it is. Real Mexican street food — should be delectable. Right on!”

We’ve left messages with Brock’s publicity team and Neighborhood Dining Group to confirm the name.

UPDATE: Polished Pig Media, Neighborhood Dining Group’s PR firm, has confirmed that Minero is the name of the restaurant. Following CP‘s report, Gil Shuler’s tweet and website post have been deleted.
