If you’re like us, Husk is still a date-night treat for you and yours. We’re so thrifty we even save Husk Bar’s cheeseburgers for big occasions. Those mighty meat masterpieces are worth the $11 price tag, but the toll drink of three Charleston Light Dragoon’s Punch cocktails ($9 a pop) to wash it down add up quick. Now you could forgo ordering a cocktail — Light Dragoon or otherwise — but why would you?

So we were excited to get an email yesterday telling us that two Husk-ers — chef Justin Burch and pastry chef Logan Pollard — will make guest appearances at Elliotborough Mini Bar for the bar’s Working Class Mondays when they’ll serve up eats for $5 or less. The first? A Mock-Griddle, a play on Mickey D’s McGriddle.

“It’s a take on a breakfast sandwich, and every week it’s got a different concept,” says EMB owner Anna Faenza. “This week it was Mexican corn pancakes with chorizo, griddle huevo, and Mexican pepper ketchup. Justin also had $3 pa’tot’as bravas — a tater tot play on Spanish patatas bravas.” The Mock-Griddles are $5. Sides are $3.

As for Pollard, she mixes up a variety of desserts. “Monday it was $3 homemade s’mores, which were to die for!” says Logan. To round out Elliotborough’s baller-on-a-budget menu, guests get 20 percent off bar tabs from 5 p.m. until close. Think of it as Husk Lite.
