We’ve just learned that Bob Waggoner — former Charleston Grill chef and proprietor of the forthcoming In the Kitchen restaurant/cooking school — is consulting on new King Street Mexican restaurant, Generalissimo (565 King St.).

Eater.com reports that Southern Charmer Whitney Sudler-Smith is a partner in the project with Planet Hollywood creator  Bryan Kestner. But Waggoner says this new restaurant will not be in the vein of the gawdy ’90s “all-star cafe.” That said, Generalissimo might make appearances on the reality series Charleston loves to hate.

“Bryan is the mastermind behind the restaurant,” Waggoner tells CP. “He’s the superstar of the place. He wanted to make it part of the show.”
Check back here Monday for more details on the project.
