CP has just learned that founding Chef Robert Carter has left Rutledge Cab Co. We spoke with Carter and he confirms the news. “The reason I left is to concentrate on a large new project,” Carter says.

Carter, who became well known in his years as Executive Chef at Peninsula Grill, opened the Wagener Terrace burger joint in January 2013. As to his new project, he says he’s not ready to reveal specifics yet.

Brad Creger, co-owner of Rutledge Cab Co. with Bill Murray (yes the Bill Murray) and Mike Veeck, says that the separation is amicable.

“On behalf of Rutledge Cab Co. and it’s employees, it’s been a pleasure,” Creger says. “Mike, Bill, and I wish Bob nothing but success in his future endeavors.”
