The Terrace Theatre (1956 Maybank Hwy.) will show Australian horror flick The Babadook starting Fri. Dec. 5. The flick, which screened at Sundance this year, is about a mother and son and a monster, Babadook. The mother, Amelia (Essie Davis), is raising her son, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), alone after her husband’s tragic death. One night Samuel asks Amelia to read him a pop-up book, The Babadook, which is all about a supernatural being who haunts people once they know of his existence. And the rest is all spooks and scary shenanigans as normal. Trust us — we saw a trailer before The Theory of Everything last night, and it had us holding onto our seatmate for protection. It reminded us of The Ring

The Babadook will have three showings on Fri. Dec. 6 — 7:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m., 11:30 p.m. — and will then play Sat.-Thurs. at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Check out the trailer here
