The Charleston Symphony Orchestra (CSO) Gospel Choir and the CSO Spiritual Ensemble will perform Gospel Christmas: Unspeakable Gift on Sat. Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ashley River Baptist Church in West Ashley.

The program will feature gospel songs, traditional spirituals, and new arrangements of classics like “Go Tell it On the Mountain” and “What Child is This?”

Both the Spiritual Ensemble and Gospel Choir were founded by CSO board member Lee Pringle, a singer and activist in the African-American musical world — Pringle also founded the Colour of Music Festival, a classical musical festival celebrating African-American classical musicians and composers.
