Chef Daniel Boulud (of New York City’s two Michelin stars-rated Daniel and 12 other restaurants) is on a culinary tour of Charleston. In the past three days he’s popped in McCrady’s, The Ordinary, Charleston Grill, and Minero. Could he be visiting Butcher & Bee today? A tweet (below) suggests that might be his next stop.

Boulud is no stranger to Charleston. For the Charleston Wine + Food Festival’s fifth anniversary in 2010, the chef headlined a $750-a-plate dinner at Terri Henning’s People’s Building penthouse. Charleston Grill GM Mickey Bakst was credited with luring Boulud to the city for the event. As for what brought him here this weekend, from the looks of his instagram account, good friends and good food seem to be the draw … but could plans for a Charleston restaurant also be in the works? If you have a tip, let us know.

Update: Our prediction was correct. Chef Boulud popped by Butcher & Bee for lunch today tweeting, “Awesome sandwich & dessert.”

Here Boulud and his wife Katherine get cozy with B&B’s Chef Stuart Tracy, Bakst, and The Sanctuary’s Pastry Chef Remy Funfrock.
