Let us tell you, with the return of Downton Abbey, we’ve been really looking forward to news on the forthcoming fish-and-chips-meets-traditional-English-tea-shop Mushy Peas. We first reported the chipper back in July when British entrepreneur Kevin Bradley told us of his plan to transform 363 King St. into an English bistro.
“We’ll have afternoon tea each Wednesday from 3-6 p.m. and we’ll serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner,” Bradley told CP. He was even hoping to outfit the space with a traditional London black cab and, of course, serve the namesake dish.
Alas, visions of afternoons spent tucking into clotted cream topped scones have been dashed — the plan is no more. Bradley says he’s abandoned the old Pace’s Pizza Balls address for locations in Columbia and Greenville.
So, no clotted cream for King Street. What a pisser.
