Academy Award-winning cinematographer Russell Carpenter will head to the Holy City to shoot the short film The Final Adventure of John and Eleanor Greene, along with Sundance Film Festival Award-winning directors and producers Maria White and Matthew Mebane. Carpenter has been honored by the Academy for his work on Titanic, but his resume also includes True Lies, Charlie’s Angels, and Shallow Hal. The flick was written by Greenville native Matthew Aughtry and is about a widow who travels to South Carolina to complete the couple’s tour of visiting all 50 states.

Carpenter will also speak about his career as well as cinematography at Trident Technical College’s North Charleston campus (7000 Rivers Ave.) on Feb. 8 at 2:30 p.m. The two-hour talk is open to the public, but registration is required. Visit indiegrants.org for more information.
