Local folk singer-songwriter Avi Jacob recently released a video for “Cannonball,” an upbeat song about a fiery love affair. “I was thinking about a particular girl, who shall remain nameless for purposes of her being in Charleston,” Jacob says.
The track was mixed and produced by Wolfgang Ryan Zimmerman, “who is really a huge part of how the track came out,” Jacob says. Zimmerman also plays drums on the song, along with Elliot A. Smith on keys, Matthew Alexander on bass, and Jacob on guitar.
As for the video, “Cannonball” was filmed by Savannah’s 1027 Films and directed by Omar Abushaikha and Andrew Wecht. Featuring Charleston puppeteer Will Schutze’s Mr. Bonetangles, the video can now be viewed on 1027 Films’ YouTube channel — or just press play right here:
