UPDATE: This link will give you a full list of shows with discounts. The discount structure this year is rolling, so purchase of tickets to one show will give you a 10 percent discount, two shows 15 percent, three shows 20 percent, and four or more 25 percent.

The always highly-anticipated Spoleto Festival USA Locals Weekend has been announced for next Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12. Why is it such a big deal? Because if you buy tickets in person at the box office, located in the Charleston Visitor Center at 375 Meeting St., you can score big ticket discounts on a variety of shows. Details for each particular show were not announced as of press time, but some of the shows that will be on sale include Shakespeare’s Globe’s Romeo and Juliet, Casus Circus’s Knee Deep, the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theatre, Carlos Aguirre, and Shen Wei Dance. Some orchestra and chamber music concerts will be discounted as well.

The box office is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Regular weekly hours are Mon.-Sat. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through May 2, with Sunday hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) beginning May 3 and running through June 6.
