Last Saturday the Marion Square Charleston Farmers Market started up again filling baskets with strawberries and our Instagram feed with dozens of pictures of radishes. But downtown isn’t the only spot to get your fresh produce on. Here’s our latest market research on the opening days, locations, and times for the Lowcountry’s farmers markets:
Summerville’s Farmers Market (200 S. Main St.) also began last Saturday and continues every Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. until Dec. 19.
Mt. Pleasant’s Farmers Market (at Moultrie Middle School) kicks off tomorrow, Tues. April 7, and runs from 3:30 p.m. until dusk.
Starting April 19, the Sunday Brunch Farmers Market reopens with a new location: Brick House Kitchen at 1575 Folly Road. You can shop the Sunday Brunch Farmers Market from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Over in Park Circle, the Felix C. Davis Community Center armers market will start on April 22 and will be open Thursdays from 12-7 p.m. Also in North Charleston, Mixson Farmers Market will open May 9 and run through October 24 opening every Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at 4338 McCarthy St.
This year, MUSC will feature just one farmers market at the Horseshoe on Ashley Avenue. The Horseshoe is open Friday from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Johns Island Farmers Market continues to operate every Saturday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at 3546 Maybank Hwy.
