Last December we wrote about Mainely Lobstah’s new food truck, and now we can announce that the truck is up and running. It’s got a new name — The Immortal Lobster — but the concept is the same: Owner Christopher York will be serving up “sweet, succulent, delicious Maine lobster.”

York will be debuting his truck at The Barrel this Saturday starting at 3 p.m. Check out The Barrel’s Facebook for updates on their live music schedule.

York says that Immortal Lobster (fun fact: while lobsters are quite mortal, they just grow until they die) will be sourcing their lobster roll bread from local bakeries, and their lobster from a few different sources in Maine and South Carolina. Along with traditional lobster rolls, they will feature deluxe lobster grilled cheese, homemade tea and lemonade, and homemade whoopie pies — another Maine classic.

A native of Maine, York moved down South eight years ago and has worked in food and beverage ever since. So why import a Maine staple into a Charleston-based food truck? “I figured it was time to try something I know,” says York.

York will park his truck at True Value Hardware starting June 8 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Mon-Fri.
