Progress continues on the Statehouse initiative to remove the Confederate flag from the S.C. capitol grounds, but as the P&C whip count shows, both chambers sit just short of the needed 2/3 majority with several lawmakers remaining on the sidelines. Meanwhile in Alabama, the governor has ordered rebel flags removed from its capitol grounds and in Mississippi, North Carolina, and Georgia, state leaders have felt pressure to take action as well.
